Located just off Highway 1 on California’s central coast, Avila Beach is located on San Luis Obispo Bay about 160 miles northwest of Los Angeles and about 200 miles south of San Francisco. With its own uniquely sunny and warm micro climate, Avila Beach is a breath of fresh salt air, with amenity-laden hotels, charming oceanfront restaurants, and magnificent local wines. Avila Beach was the primary shooting location for the 1979 film California Dreaming.
